Most people think that everyone would love to work at home but in reality, work at home is not for everyone. Of course a working at home has many advantages, but never forgets the inconvenience involved.

People want the freedom to make their own hours, get lots of sleep, take a day off whenever you want, not having to deal with co-workers, and being your own boss.

All this soundsreally good. On the flip side it is a great responsibility and very few are able to simply close shop at 6pm and be off for the night as they can in a brick and mortar work.

You do not work all hours and you do not make a designated amount of money. Many like the idea of working at home so they can be with their families, but remember the old adage, "Be careful what you ask for."

You must be able to truly balance dual roles of being a productive worker and a parent. You must be able to set firm boundaries and make sure you use your business as efficiently as possible.

Balance will be both your best friend and your worst enemy. When you work at home, it means you are independent. Self-employment is often reflected by some as one who is unemployed, unless you're an entrepreneur.

You may find the phone ringing off the hook just because you are home, so you must be available to chat. You don't want to be rude but sometimes it takes a hammer on the head for people to understand.

Put a note on your door that states you are not available from 8-5 and either get a extra phone line or send all calls to voice mail and go through them later.

When it comes to opportunities at home, they are endless.Some examples are computer, work, accountant, billing, telemarketing, assembling, day care, silk flower arrangements, refinishing furniture, or even knitting bedspreads.

If you've got a niche, then there is an opportunity. Someone wants and needs you like yesterday.
